Today…We had a maturation presentation with the District School Nurse. Booklets are coming home for families to share and discuss.
Social Studies - drafts for topics 2, 3 and 4 are done. Draft #5 is due Friday May 6th
We always begin by creating 5 GREAT questions we are to research then use our answers to write a paragraph. The class is working on their 5th and final topic draft now. Students have in their Social Studies duotang a planning sheet with ALL due dates.
As reviewed in class, drafts are marked on:
• legibility and must be double spaced
• related to the topic selected and include detail
• spelling • grammar (verbs and verb tenses) • coherence (Does your paragraph make sense?)
*Your Name and a title will also be useful! The title will be the subject you researched. Lastly, students need to think of 4 different ways to represent their work visually. Some ideas have been shared. Only 3 printed images from the internet are permitted.
Students are also responsible for creating visual presentations to accompany their written work. Only 3 internet printouts are permitted in this project.
Math – VOLUME

Below are a few links that will help students begin to research their francophone countries. It is expected that students only use French resources for this project and to keep a running bibliography. Remember a simple Google search will probably consist of the country in parentheses and the topic in parentheses — "Laos""cuisine". Some areas to look for are audios of the national anthem or music, virtual tours, photographs and maps, and any other topic.
